Ashley River Boatworks is located near Charleston, South Carolina. We are a full-service restoration and repair shop. We can do wood or fiberglass repair, structural work, engine, electrical and systems work.
Tim Taylor, founder, is a graduate of The Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design in Kennebunk, Maine. While there, he studied for 2 years concentrating on marine systems and boat building. Â He has worked on plumbing systems, propulsion, engine maintenance and repair, electrical systems, including installation and repair. Â During his year in the boat building section, he built a 22 ft. cold-molded fly fishing boat that has been featured in and awarded by WoodenBoat magazine. Â Check it out here.
Tim is a certified ABYC Master Technician and is qualified in Marine Systems, Electrical Systems, and Diesel Engines.
Before working on boats took over his life, Tim worked as a CPA, owned a software development company, owned a truss manufacturing plant, and drove an 18 wheeler for a while.
His passion is for beautiful, simple boats that simply work well.
